Attic Hatch Inc. Renovation Instructions

1. Push back loose insulation and remove old casing, half jam and insulation dam.

2. When opening is clean cut back the ceiling drywall ½ inch on the bottom of the truss.

 

3. Install new attic hatch kit and screw or nail metal frame to the bottom of the truss.

 

4. Caulk ceiling drywall and vapor barrier to metal frame.

 

5. Snap in attic Hatch molding kit. Paint and/or stipple new lid and casing.
New Attic Hatch becomes air tight.

Code requirements.
